Charles Kim
President- A lifelong Maryland resident, veteran, and currently a Management analyst at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Development- Charles is passionate about Maryland communities being connected to the land and people around them. An avid hiker and marathon runner, Charles loves to see small towns and businesses in Maryland take advantage of the amazing natural resources around them in creative and responsible ways.
Brian Becker
Growth Strategy Consultant - Brian Becker is the former Chief Operating Officer of DC-based Wellfound Foods, a company dedicated to increasing access to fresh and healthy food through 24-7 tech-enhanced Smart Markets. Under his leadership since 2020, Wellfound rapidly expanded in the Mid-Atlantic region, securing high-profile placements in healthcare facilities, government buildings, transportation hubs, and college campuses. Brian collaborated closely with Wellfound’s founder, Sarah Frimpong, to navigate a major business pivot during COVID-19, optimize operational processes, and achieve over 50% year-over-year growth. They also raised over $2MM in equity funding and secured over $100K in grants. Notably, Wellfound donates 100% of unsold meals to local partner organizations to combat food insecurity. Prior to Wellfound, Brian was the Entrepreneur in Residence and Director of Small Business Outreach at the Catholic University of America, where he facilitated the Inner City Capital Connections Program and executed the Capital Access Expo. A native of the DC area and a lifelong educator, Brian has a B.A. in English from Washington & Lee University, a M.A.L.A. from St. John’s College, and a M.A.I.S. from the Catholic University of America. He resides in Annapolis with his wife Melanie, their two children, and their dog Ginger.
Nancy Khan
Treasurer- As a Botanist for the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, Nancy loves the natural world and knows that a successful future involves communities integrating with natural and the environment in ways the help the people, their culture, and their homes. Also deeply interested in the history of the DMV region, Nancy is excited to see communities preserve their heritage and stories in ways help build an identity not just of the past, but for future generations as well.
Hank Harned
Secretary - Having worked for two governors before starting his own consulting company Hank is
considered an expert in workforce development and labor relations in multiple industries including manufacturing, healthcare, and education. His work has accounted for billions of dollars spent to implement and improve workforce programs at the local, state, and national level. He is passionate about helping citizens improve their lives and their
communities. If you can’t find him in the office, he’s probably walking his dog Huckleberry at the park.
